Practical Information

The first step is to book an initial session. During this time, we will discuss your challenges and explore how counselling can help you. It’s also a great opportunity for us to meet and for you to see how I work. This session is non-committal, so afterward, you can decide if you’d like to commit to coaching or longer-term psychotherapy.

To book the initial session, contact me via WhatsApp or email.

FAQ – About Therapy

What is psychotherapy and how does it work?

Psychotherapy is a space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences with a trained professional. Rather than giving advice, therapy helps you understand patterns, make sense of your inner world, and gradually create meaningful change.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy may be helpful if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to move forward in some area of your life. You don’t need to be in crisis — many people start therapy when something internally no longer feels manageable alone.

What happens during a therapy session?

In sessions, we talk about what feels most important for you at that moment. This may include current difficulties, past experiences, relationships, emotions, or bodily feelings. Over time, patterns begin to emerge and we work with them together at a pace that feels safe.

How long does therapy usually take?

There is no fixed timeline. Some people come for short-term support during a specific period of difficulty, while others prefer longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns. We regularly review progress and what feels helpful.

What is the difference between talking to a therapist and talking to a friend?

Friends offer care, support, and advice. Therapy offers a consistent, confidential space that is focused entirely on you. A therapist helps you explore patterns, emotions, and experiences without judgment or personal involvement in your life.

How do I choose the right therapist?

It often comes down to whether you feel understood, safe, and comfortable with the therapist. The relationship itself is an important part of the therapeutic process. An initial consultation can help you get a sense of whether it feels like a good fit.

What if I don’t know what to talk about in therapy?

That is completely okay. Many people begin therapy without a clear structure. Part of the process is discovering what feels important to explore, even if it is not immediately obvious at the start.

Is therapy always focused on the past?

Not necessarily. Therapy often involves exploring past experiences, but it also focuses on your present life, relationships, emotions, and patterns. The aim is to understand how your past may be influencing your present.

Do I need to prepare for my first session?

No preparation is needed. You can simply come as you are. The first session is about getting to know what brings you to therapy and what you would like support with.

What if I feel uncomfortable or emotional in therapy?

Feeling emotional is a natural part of the process. Therapy is a space where difficult feelings can be explored safely. You are always in control of what you choose to share and at what pace.

Can therapy help even if I’m functioning well in life?

Yes. Many people in therapy are high-functioning externally but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected internally. Therapy is not only for crisis — it is also for understanding yourself more deeply and improving emotional wellbeing.

How do I know if therapy is working?

Progress in therapy is often subtle. You may notice increased self-awareness, emotional clarity, improved relationships, or a different way of responding to stress. We also check in regularly about how the process is feeling for you.

Words From Clients

I've always known having the right mindset stops me getting in my own way not just in business, but also in my personal life, and even though I've worked with other therapists in the past, nothing quite prepared me for the shifts that Anna has helped with on several occasions. She has a knack of really listening, not judging, and knowing the exact questions to ask you. Everytime I've walked away from a session, it feels like a whole load of deadweight has been released, to be replaced by big "Aha!" moments, and where my body remembers even when I forget. This was especially so for a somatic session that Anna took me through. And everytime I find myself playing small, I just need to go back to the very moment I experienced the shift with her. I can't recommend Anna enough. I wouldn't be where I am without her guidance.
